The extension of UCG’s fibre rollout contract with Chorus has been welcomed by UCG New Zealand CEO, Ralf Luna.
“UCG has been an important partner to Chorus for more than a decade as we have supported the game-changing rollout of New Zealand’s broadband fibre network,” Mr Luna said.
“We will continue to have responsibility for activities in the upper North Island, and welcome the extension of our existing full scope contract to 2035, and possibly beyond,” Mr Luna said.
“In today’s challenging economic environment, having a sustainable business pathway for the next decade is of strong benefit to our employees, our delivery partners and our customers in other sectors throughout New Zealand.”
“UCG has become an important contributor to the infrastructure ecosystem in New Zealand and the Asia Pacific Region, as we continue to assist network operators to fulfill their own development plans. We look forward to remaining a key support partner to Chorus and other network operators as New Zealand’s infrastructure aspirations develop,” Mr Luna said.
