We are excited to welcome Ray O’Regan to UCG as Project Director – Pacific Islands. With over 25 years of experience in telecommunications, utility construction, and large-scale infrastructure development, Ray has a proven track record of leading high-performance teams, optimizing project delivery, and driving strategic growth across the sector.
In this role, Ray will oversee critical telecommunications infrastructure projects across the Pacific, ensuring their successful execution while aligning with regional development goals. He will play a key role in World Bank-funded initiatives, working closely with governments, telecommunications providers, private sector partners, and local communities to enhance digital connectivity. His expertise in telecommunications, utility construction, logistics, regulatory compliance, and risk management will be instrumental in delivering resilient infrastructure that fosters economic growth and digital inclusion.
Ray has held senior leadership roles as an Independent Consultant, CEO of Connect 8, and General Manager of Construction at FX Networks. Most recently, he provided governance and delivery support for Powerco’s 165km Project Hauraki fibre build, a key initiative enhancing fibre resilience in the Coromandel region. His extensive experience in project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and large-scale infrastructure delivery makes him a valuable addition to the UCG team.
Based in our Auckland office, Ray will frequently travel to the Pacific region, collaborating with Network operators, government agencies, and key stakeholders to drive the success of UCG’s regional projects.
